외국인특별전형 입학 및 졸업 외국어시험 요건

l  APPLICANTS TO GRADUATE PROGRAMS

Proof of language proficiency: TOPIK, KLPT, TEPS, TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, HSK, JLPT, DELF/DALF, DELE , ZD, etc.

Academic awards, certificates, test reports (GRE, GMAT, etc.)

Applicants must satisfy at least one of the Language Proficiency conditions listed below.

 

English Proficiency

Ø Applicants should submit a score report of a recognized English Proficiency Test

 - TOEFL (PBT 550, CBT 213, iBT 80), TEPS 551, IELTS 5.5 or higher.

Ø Or any other supporting documents which demonstrate appropriate English language proficiency.

N.B. Depending on the academic department, failing to demonstrate one’s English proficiency may adversely affect one’s candidacy for acceptance.

NOTE: We accept TOEFL scores sent to us directly by ETS if it arrives before deadline. The official ETS code of SNU is 7972. You may submit a photocopy of the Examinee’s Score Report for review purposes only, but this is not a substitute for an official score report.

Korean Proficiency

Ø Applicants should submit a score report of a recognized Korean Proficiency Test

 - Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) level 3 or higher.

Ø Or any other supporting documents which demonstrate appropriate Korean language proficiency.

N.B. Depending on the academic department, failing to demonstrate one’s Korean proficiency may adversely affect one’s candidacy for acceptance.


 

 

또한 졸업시에는 외국인특별전형으로 입학한 학생은 논문제출자격시험 외국어 시험을 합격해야함.
 
공용어,모국어가 영어인 경우는 1. 본부에서 진행하는 한국어 시험에 응시.
                                                        2.국어와 한국어문화 1.2 (수업코드 990.804 또는 990.805) 중 1개의 수업을 듣고 "S"학점 취득시 면제(단, 수료학점에는 불포함) 
                                                        3. 한국어 시험에 계속 불합격할 경우 한국어 구술고사 응시 가능함.
 
공용어,모국어가 영어가 아닌 경우에는 영어 또는 한국어 응시가 가능하며 한국어 시험에 응시한다면 상기 1-3까지 모두 응시할 수 있고 영어로 응시하려고 한다면  4.TEPS 601점 이상의 점수를 제출하면 영어합격으로 면제처리가 됩니다.
 
예외적으로 인도와 파키스탄 학생들은 공용어가 영어이지만 이들 두 나라에 대해서는 한국어와 영어응시가 가능하도록 되어 있습니다.
 

c. Foreign Language Examination (English or Korean)  

                      - The foreign language examination must be taken in English. However, international students must select between English and Korean. Those for whom English is the native language (including official language(s) and lingua franca(s)) must select Korean.  

       1) English Examination

         Score on the English examination are to be substituted by those on regularly administered  TEPS or TOEFL (excluding the PBT), and the standards for passing are as follow. TEPS: a Minimum score of 601; IBT TOEFL: a minimum score of 85.  

         Students who wish to be acknowledged as having passed the English examination must submit passing official scores on standardized examinations taken within 2 years before the submission of the dissertation evaluation application documents (beginning of April for the 1st semester; beginning of October for the 2nd semester) during the same semester. However, scores obtained  and acknowledged as passing upon or after students’ entrance to the graduate school of the University are to be approved until students’ graduation from their final academic programs.  

          

        2) Korean Examination  

       The Korean examination for international students is administered by the Office of Academic Affairs in March and September.  

       As for international students who have failed to pass the Korean examination on at least one occasion, those recommended by their academic advisor may take an oral examination administered by a faculty member related to the study and/or education of the Korean language  designated by the President of the University instead.  

       Students who have completed and obtained a minimum grade of  S on a "Korean Language and Culture 1or 2"(Course CODE :990.804 or 990.805) course offered during the regular semester or summer/winter semester as a substitute for the Korean examination as a part of the Qualifying Test (Korean Language and Culture 1 or 2) are to be exempt from the Korean examination. However, the credits obtained from such a course are not to be included among those for students’ course work completion.  

       The Dean of the College of Engineering must select students who must take the Korean examination (including the oral examination) each semester and submit the list to the Office of Academic Affairs by the designated deadline.
