-Location: Baltimore, Maryland

-Deadline: 11/30/2022

-Description:

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine invites applications for multiple Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions in the areas of Microfluidic BioMEMS, Cardiovascular Biology/Bioengineering, 3D Bioprinting, Organ/Tissue-on-a-Chip Technology, Human Stem Cell Biology, Tissue and Organoid Engineering, Cardiac Electrophysiology, Microelectrode Array(MEA), Neuromuscular Biology, Multi-Omics, and Genome-editing Technologies.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University is ranked as the #1 Biomedical Engineering Program in U.S according to U.S. News & World Report. The Johns Hopkins University offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits packages.

-Qualifications:
We seek qualified candidates with a background in two or more of the following areas: human pluripotent stem cell biology and bioengineering, cell/tissue engineering, gene editing, cardiac, skeletal and neuromuscular biology, cancer mechanobiology, and electrophysiology. Qualified individuals should have a PhD and research experience in engineering, physics, cell and molecular biology, physiology, genetics, and biochemistry. Candidates with experience in bioinformatics, microfluidic organ-on-a-chip, cardiovascular biology/bioengineering, organoid engineering, MEA-based electrophysiology, pluripotent

stem cell differentiation, genetic manipulation of cardiac, skeletal or neuromuscular cells, and genome editing (CRISPR/Cas9) techniques will be given a preference. Our research focuses the development of human iPSC-based microphysiological systems (also known as organ-on-a-chip) for disease modeling, drug development, and precision medicine. All candidates should have a strong experimental background, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong academic and publication record. Fellows are expected to function independently in the design and development of their research, collaborate with internal and external investigators, and participate in the preparation of manuscripts, grants, and presentations.
