5. Abstract :
Organic solar cells are promising as next generation renewable energy sources. There have been many developments about organic solar cells since 1990s. They are better than conventional Si solar cells in terms of processibility, unit production cost and design versatility. They can be made into flexible and transparent form for various applications. However, the efficiency and lifetime level of the organic solar cells are not good enough for commercial applications. Therefore, many studies have been carried out to improve the efficiency and lifetime of the organic solar cells. One approach to improve the device performances of the organic solar cells is to manage the morphology of the active layer and the interface between the active layer and electrode. In this presentation, I will give a brief overview of organic solar cells and introduce our recent research results to improve the efficiency of organic solar cells through morphology and interface engineering.
