저는 2002년에 학부/ 2008년에 박사졸업을 하고, 현재 The Boston Consulting Group (이하 BCG)에서
컨설턴트로 근무하고 있는 98학번 최승준 이라고 합니다.
공대생들께는 낯설게 들리실 지 모르겠지만, BCG는 Global top 2 전략 Consulting firm으로서 대부분 분야의 Global 선도업체 컨설팅을 주도하는 회사입니다.
다름이 아니오라 저희 BCG의 knowledge team에서 근무하실 산업재 전문 (가급적 화학, 화공과 출신) analyst를 모집하고 있습니다.
Analyst로 선발되시면, Seoul Office에서 근무하게 되시지만 실제로는 전 세계의 BCG network을 통해 다른 국가 Consultant 또는 Analyst 들과 일하게 됩니다.

The Boston Consulting Group is seeking a strong candidate with experience to fill an Industrial Goods Practice Area (IGPA) Analyst position within the BCG Knowledge Team. This professional will support the Industrial Goods Practice through managing and processing research requests and assisting consultants with industry specific problems, with a particular focus on Chemical and Natural Science topics (e.g. Construction Chemical, Biofuels, Chemical Distribution, Coating and Pigments…etc.).

The IGPA Analyst will interact with both local and international teams and use an extensive collection of internal and external information resources to gather, filter, synthesize, package and deliver information to case teams. This professional will participate in and manage IGPA analysis projects under the guidance of senior IGPA consultants and analysts.
Specific responsibilities
- Provides support for our client work
- Assists others in navigating the Knowledge network by connecting them with materials and people
- Conducts research and analysis covering his/her specific industry sector; manages multiple requests
- Provides basic synthesis and packaging of research results (e.g., using Excel, PowerPoint)
- Evaluates data quality
- Supports development of the practice
- Develops specialized PA sector or geographic content knowledge
- Evaluates research sources and helps manage vendor relationships
- Identifies, monitors, and communicates key research-related trends and issues
- Helps promote the practice
- Promotes innovation at BCG by recognizing new concepts and facilitating their capture
- Supports the local office (e.g., helps introduce consultants to knowledge systems/tools)
Qualifications
- 1-3 year of relevant work experience (relating to the Chemical Engineering/Chemistry/Natural sciences) or the equivalent (e.g., specialized academic research/internship)
- Familiarity with a broad range of research sources
- University degree with demonstrated high academic achievement
Other Skills
- Good knowledge of Industrial Goods sectors
- Proven research and database capabilities
- Advanced English and Korean communication skills
- Excellent written and oral communication and interviewer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with all levels of seniority
- Service-oriented and proactive
- Autonomous, able to tolerate ambiguity, self-motivated
- Able to work in a virtual, global environment
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage multi-tasking
